Happy Place: Wood Lake Nature Center

Wood Lake Nature Center is a 150-acre natural habitat located in the heart of the City of Richfield, Minnesota. It has walking trails, floating boardwalk, lakes and diverse species of wildlife, including flora and fauna. This center conducts a number of events and activities throughout the year for the enthusiasts and is a great source of education on environment and nature.

We visited this park few days back for walking one of the trails. It boasts of a total of three miles of walking trails. From the boardwalk across the lake, sun setting behind the trees provided a picturesque view. For most part of our time, we were ‘stuck‘ at the boardwalk, enjoying the nature, lake on the marshy lands, wildlife on the lake, lush greenery and photography. The best thing about this lake is its proximity to our place – within a distance of 2 miles. To me, this center represents a happy place which i can visit anytime to unwind myself and spend time with my self amidst the nature.
