My First Eyes into the World

This is my new muse – my daughter ‘Shalika’ born on Sep 16th 2015. I took this shot when she was just 10 days old. Among all the shots i took that day, this is among a handful of shots where she had kept her eyes open, though not wide open, seeing straight into the camera, or atleast it seems so. It is said that newborn babies cannot see more than a couple of feet of distance. More shots of this week challenge here.

Today when she is almost three months old, she keeps her eyes wide open when i take her shots. She likes the flash of the camera, i suppose. Compared to when she was less than a month, it is a challenge now to ensure that she stays still without lot of movement so that i can click a nice shot. In the hindsight when i reflect upon, i find that i am learning lot of stuffs about baby photography, which can be quite testing at times. However best thing about shooting her now is that she gives lot of smiles when she is clicked, which makes a photographer and father like me feel enormous joy.

One thing i know for sure is that her father is going to shoot her at various stages of her growth. When she grows up, probably she will enjoy these shots and giggle looking at them. Who knows then she may wield a camera and shoot her dad!
